Vienna: What would we do without art?

"Ohne Musik wäre das Leben ein Irrtum" (without music, life would be a mistake), remarked Friedrich Nietzsche. Jagoda, in a quiet Vienna, agrees.

Vienna is a city of culture. With all its theatres, museums, galleries, concert halls, galleries. What strikes me the most now, is the fact that everything is closed.

I grew up in a small town where we didn’t have such access to cultural sites. The great offer of these was one of the reasons why I moved to Vienna. Now, everything seems so quiet, desolate and sad. I miss Viennese talks about the new opera director (we are not very satisfied with his appointment), discussions about the premiere at the Burgtheater or meetings with writers at the Morawa bookstore.

Supposedly these are the so-called first world problems. We should be grateful for staying healthy and I am indeed. However, as Stephen King remarked: what would we do in the quarantine without the music, books, poems, and music?
