Coronavirus quarantine has frozen many people in a life they were undertaking far from home. Imagining the people and places we know so well as they are now, transformed by conditions unimaginable when we left them, can be a heart-wrenching experience. A friend's photographs give Zeinah Ghandoura, a Syrian architect studying abroad, a window across the world.
During this pandemic I am away from home due to my studies and I get to be in quarantine in a different country.
My friend shared with me these photos from our city and I wanted to share them with more people, to show how I miss and love my city. These were taken during quarantine.

The first one is from the mountain: usually we go there for the very famous restaurants that make our traditional foods and enjoy the views with big family gatherings. It overlooks part of the city, showing a peaceful view that now reflects the silence of those restaurants which used to be so crowded before.
The second one is by the seaside watching the sunset while the beach was totally empty.
And the last is from the balcony: the trees are all blossoming in this spring time and we get to enjoy watching them from our balconies.
