Florence: Look at this as a break

Florence is one of the most visited cities in the world. It is the city of arts and renaissance, full of life and energy surrounded by tourists and locals at any time, any moment. If someone had told Claudia that in March 2020 her city was going to be completely empty, she would have never believed it.

But it is true, Florence and other iconic Italian cities turned into "ghost cities" at the beginning of March when Coronavirus hit Italy so hard that people weren't able to get out of their homes to do their usual activities.

Scary? Yes a little bit, but what has this quarantine and last week of total lockdown brought me? It brought me TIME!

Time to cook and enjoy my meals without watching the clock, time to do some indoor exercises and challenge myself with new routines, time to take online lessons and improve my knowledge in several subjects, time to do some “spa days” and watch some series and documentaries I wanted to for so long and most importantly… time to talk and be in contact more often with friends and family who currently live in other parts of the world.

Yes, being in lockdown at home without being able to do the activities you normally do is hard but not terrible. You need to see the good side of this and the fact that you can literally save lives by staying at home during these days makes it worth. Eventually, we will have to go back to our daily activities but until that happens, try to be creative, learn and entertain yourself at home as much as you can.

Look at this as a “break” from work and routine. Even though we have no idea when this is going to end, we need to stay calm and give us some time to enjoy and appreciate the little things in life. #iorestoacasa #iobevoacasa #iocucinoacasa
