Madrid: Flying over the city

Alba, a social psychologist from Madrid, enjoys drawing in her free time. As the reality of silence overwhelms her, Kaxia (Alba's artist name) she starts to draw in attempt "to leave the room and fly over the city".

From my window, I overlook the illuminated windows in my street. I am seized an emotion of hatred - a strident sound in the silence. Is this really happening?

Every once in a while, I stop seeing the overwhelming reality and restlessness invades my body. Uncertainty.

I sit down behind my desk and take out my tools of expression: a small notebook (which I had initially bought as a gift, but when I started with my sketching journal, I decided to keep it for myself) and my colour markers in different sizes. As I sit there, I start to immerse myself in my imagination. There, I ask the crazy lady living on the top floor how she is perceiving this reality; how do you feel about all of this? I ask her questions, trace by trace, colour by colour.

Some of my imaginations result in simple drawings that enable me to connect with my inner self; to leave the room and fly over the city.
